Cree's New LED-based Troffer: 3200 Lumen@3500K, CRI90

Cree Inc., the market leader in LED Lighting, announces a new Led-based troffer that delivers over 100 lumens per Watt fixture efficacy. This is the first indoor fixture known that exceed the threshold.

This item is displayed at Lightfair 2010 in Las Vegars. The LR24HE is 30% more efficient than the best 2ft-by-2ft fluorescent troffers and 15% than 2ft-by-4ft. Availing Cree's proprietary TrueWhite technology, the LR24HE can deliver up to 3200 lumen at 3500K with a high CRI of 90. And the lifespan is expected to be more than 50K hours.

Cree expects that it will reduce its current award-winning troffer by 15%, which will greatly reduce upfront cost and help to accelerate the revolution of LED Lighting.

“By using the LR24HE, which is the most efficient product for general illumination, Lighting designers and architects now have the freedom to reintroduce accent and decorative lighting and still meet energy codes or achieve LEED points,” said Gary Trott, Cree's vice president market development, led lighting. “Cree continues to leverage TrueWhite Technology to deliver breakthrough new performance levels.”

The LR24HE is planned for commercial availability in late summer. It will offer Cree’s new five year warranty.
