China shipments of LED back light LCD TV are expected to account for 1/4 of the total by the end of 2010, which was just 10.6 in the first half of 2010, as researched from All Views Consulting(AVC).
Samsung and LG currently lead as the top-2 suppliers of LED backlighting TV panels in China, but Taiwan suppliers are ramping up in the market, which will help to ease the tight supply and boost LED TV shipments, as cited from the sources.
China TV vendors are making efforts to increase their share in the LED backlighting industry. TCL and Hisense are steping into the LED backlight unit manufacturing, Skyworth and Konka are investing in LED packing fabs.
AVC forecasts that China's own 3D TV market in 2010 is still not fully developed. 3D TV only have 0.08% market share in the total TV market of China. But the ramping speed would be huge in the next 2 years, market share will reach 11.34% with 4.76 million units in 2010.
Internet-connected LCD TV shipments are expected to reach 6.98 million units in 2010 in China, accounting for 19.5% of China's flat-panel TV market, the China-based research firm noted.
